Gotta Love Kiki’s Fashions

Just a little note: Scrolll down, there are other posts for today, just check the dates. I know some may just read what’s on top.

In the last few years or so maternity clothes have come a looong way. They’ve become more fashionable for sure. Some of which I wouldn’t mind wearing pregnant or not! I own a few shirts that kinda look like they are maternity shirts and I plan on keeping them for when I do become pregnant. I actually own a real maternity shirt, the Brown White Flower Maternity Short Sleeve Shirt from Kiki’s Fashions. I thought the pattern was so cute, so I HAD to have it! I wore it when I went out to eat with Greg, his mother, brother, sister, and their “mates”. I can’t get to those pictures that I took since my laptop is currently on the fritz, so I’ll post one that I took today.

I ordered a size small, I think I should have ordered a medium, the arm openings are a bit snug. When I first visited Kiki’s Fashions, I completely fell in love with their selection. Kiki’s Fashions is like Forever 21, maternity style! I love the fact that when I’m pregnant I can feel like a hawt mama-to-be vs a hot pregnant mess in huge, bulky clothing. Depending on the size of the shirts, I can possibly even wear them before, during, and after pregnancy. Kiki’s Fashions is now bookmarked in my Fashion Favs folder!

Progress. Simple.

Yesterday Greg and I did some shopping for the house. I decided to just get all of the paint colors ahead of time so I can just jump into painting when I feel like it. The day before I painted our bedroom and we finally put up the bed. We had to leave the canopy part off because it would be in the way of the fan or air conditioner. I just can’t win . Back to the paint. When we got the paint for the bedroom a few days ago, we went to Lowe’s where we paid $18 and some change per gallon for a medium grade semi gloss in Covered Wagon. Assuming that Lowe’s is all that and a bag of chips we decided to get the rest of the paint there too. When we got there I started grabbing color palettes and Greg mentioned that paint just may be cheaper at Walmart, so what did we do? Went to Walmart and matched up Lowe’s palettes with theirs. Below is a chart of the paints that we chose, where they are going, and our savings. We needed 1 more quart of Covered Wagon and since the bedroom had been painted in the same brand and color we decided to stick with Lowe’s for that.

I’m so excited about painting the rest of the rooms. Our “anything” room will stay white because it’s just going to house the upright freezer, Ab Lounge, the canopy pieces, Greg’s clothes and anything we can’t put anywhere else. I have the desire to take on another project in the living room. We have a built in bench (it’s not as messy anymore) that’s just THERE. I want to create a custom table runner and curtains for it. The runner will go on top along with plants, frames, trinkets, etc. The curtains will go across the front, covering up anything that we put inside. I was thinking baskets of “stuff” like Simba & Caesar’s toys, board games, media. If we had children of course their favorite toys. As of now, I don’t have a sewing machine. The last time I used one was when I was 10 or sew (hehe) and the machine was built for kids. I can sew by hand sew (hehe) if I have to, I will.

It seems that lately we have had to replace things. Before we moved or vacuum lost suction. After digging and cleaning, it still would not pick up. It had some years under it’s belt, it was my mother’s, so it was understandable. We now have a Dynamite Quick Vac. My laptop recently crashed so now I’m waiting on my iMac G4. Since I’m switching from Cingular/AT&T to Alltel, I needed a new phone. Our brakes recently announced that they are down to the metal, so you know what that means. If all goes well in September *crossing my fingers very tight* we’ll have an additional car. Nothing is set in stone so we’ll just see what happens. In the mean time I hope nothing else breaks or needs to be replaced for whatever reason!

Oh oh oh! How could I forget? While browsing the mall for shoes for Greg, we stopped at Kay Jewelers. I just wanted to see what they had in a heart diamond with side stones and also verify my ring size. The rings that the rep showed us were ITY BITY! I had to ask him if they were REAL engagement rings. His reply: “If he presents the ring to you as an engagement ring then it’s an engagement ring.” They were more “casual” than engagement to me, still very cute, but I want something that says “I’m engaged” and something that I can wear for life. I’m looking for a ring that can be added on to once we are married, I don’t want 2 separate rings. I’m going to stick with my original plan and just build one. The whole day while shopping, Greg and I kept saying Do Not Want to everything that we didn’t want and/or thought was ugly. I don’t know why that phrase is so funny to us, but it is!

Dear Caesar

Dear Caesar,

Mommy and Daddy are getting very upset with you. It seems you have forgotten our routine. Mommy and Daddy wake up and take their morning tinkle. Mommy and Daddy proceed to walk you over to your pads, place up the gate, so that you can take your morning tinkle. Once you take your morning tinkle, you are released from behind the gate and praised with a “Good Boy” and perhaps a treat. When you don’t take your morning tinkle, you stay behind the gate until you do. It has been over 36 hours since you tinkled or pooped. Why are you still behind the gate with your food and water bowls now? Think about it. I’ll wait…

Update 11:31am: Woohooo he tinkled and pooped! I guess he read my letter .

Maybe We Need a Dog Grooming Dryer

Caesar is not one of water’s biggest fans. When we take him to the beach, he does things like this. I’ve found that when giving him a bath, I should bathe him when he’s sleepy. He’ll just lay down in the tub and take it, lol. Now, the drying part of the process doesn’t go so good. It is imperative that I dry his coat or else he runs through the house like a mad dog, rubbing off on the furniture and carpet! Problem. Caesar doesn’t like to be blow dried. Maybe because the dryer is so loud. Maybe because dogs only like gusts of air to the face when going on a car ride… Researching dog grooming dryers, I found that they can be 75% quieter than other hair dryers. I bet Caesar would love if I bought one, then bath time could be more relaxing for the both of us!

Behind In The Housework Dept.

Since the last post, I haven’t gotten anything major done, just taking stuff out of boxes as we need them. Hopefully we can get some things done this weekend. The cable company is coming out today to set up the cable and internet. I’m on someone’s wireless right now . The cable was still on when we moved in, so we decided to see how long it would last. It got turned off yesterday. Immediately after my HGTV turned into snow, I called them to turn it back on! We’re doing the whole cable, internet, and phone deal. Much cheaper that way. I’m looking for a new cellphone so that I can switch to Alltel, Cingular sucks. Greg’s on Alltel and I like the fact that we can add funds as we need to. We aren’t big cellphone people. I use mine as a regular phone, won’t be anymore, and Greg uses his to make a few calls here and there. We aren’t big on calling a bunch of friends (why when there’s facebook and email?) or text messaging. I actually hate typing them, keypad or no keypad. With free nights and weekends and the favorite number we don’t spend much.

My laptop is seriously ill. It keeps cutting off not due to overheating. I start it up, it shows the desktop, and cuts off. Sometimes it’ll last 10 minutes or so then cuts off. Sometimes there’s a blue screen with an error that shows, but before I can make note of it, it cuts off. I don’t understand, I don’t abuse it, I’m a safe surfer. It’s so frustrating. This is the first MAJOR problem I’ve had with it. I’ve reformatted 2 times in 2 years. I can’t deal with it though so I’m getting an iMac g4, I think it looks cooler than the g5, plus a Mac is a Mac, they won’t let you down. I was trying to wait until the Christmas season to get a Mac but with my laptop crashing I cannot wait any longer, I can’t keep hogging Greg’s laptop. I may get my laptop fixed in the future, but right now I don’t want to go through the hassle of having someone touching it and erasing everything on it which isn’t much but I do cherish my photos.
