Telephone Spam, Donate To Breast Cancer
It seems like everyone and their momma has our home phone number. It rings all day, 90% of the calls are unknowns, 1800 numbers, or numbers we don’t recognize. We can have our number unlisted for an extra $5 a month, you think we’re going to spend an extra $5 a month when we can continue to ignore the calls? $5 goes a long way at Walmart, it’s not that serious to keep the phone from ringing.
A few minutes ago I got a call from “UBCF” in Chicago. Of course I didn’t answer, but I looked up “UBCF” and was directed to the United Breast Cancer Foundation. So I thought Ok, maybe they want a donation so I donated on the website, if you haven’t already, consider doing so. This call I wouldn’t consider telephone spam, I know they got our number because it’s listed, I’ll make an exception for them.
We are part of the National Do Not Call Registry to keep telemarketers from calling. They were driving me nuts calling about newspapers and magazines when we first moved. I also screen unknown numbers in the Directory of Unknown Callers.
I know receiving unknown calls are peeves to us all, so I wanted to share these resources, the National Do Not Call Registry and Directory of Unknown Callers. If these don’t help, have your kid answer the phone like Tanyetta does

Girl you are so wrong for posting that link lol I spent the last hour looking through all my odd caller ids. Thats a good resource. I am so mean when they call with a weird accent I always mock the accent when they call and say I speak a made up language and let them know they are calling a way off country lol. hey and who is do follow lurkers?? have a great night
hahaa….you are too funny! you know DJ loves to answer the phone all day long!
I had the same problem when I first got my comcast phone. So many calls. All morning long. It got on my nerves because I enjoy sleeping in and I got the phone during the summer. I ignored the calls for the most part. Sometimes I would answer and say “no I don’t want anything you are selling” and then hang up. I added the block unknown caller feature for free and that cut the calls in half if not more than that. I added myself to the do not call list. I’m happy to say that today was the first time I received a call from a person outside of my family in at least 2 months. I’m sure your calls will die down in the next month or so…especially if you just got the phone.
You should hire DJ to answer the phone for you:
DJ: My mommy is shaking her head right now. Bye Bye.
Hilarious!
I hate telemarketers. Somehow they got my cell phone number and now they are calling me like three to six times a day. It really bothers me while I am at work, because I do attend board meetings and drawings. I will definitly check out those websites. Good looking out!
