On The Road Again

We’re heading back home after spending 8 days in Chicago with family, chaos, and apartment hunting.

We found what seems to be the perfect place. We’re crossing our fingers that we hear some good news soon. There was so much paperwork, my brain still hurts. We have to be out of our current place by August 14th, I’m hoping we can be out sooner. The suspense is killing me! In the mean time Greg and I will be preoccupied with all things money. I can’t wait until I can say that the work that I do online is to support my shopping or coffee addiction. Pssh it’s deeper than that here in Sophistishe Land.

So anyway I’m flipping through the July 7th edition of OK magazine and I come across this ad/article for a weight loss formula. Patricia Kerr says Since I lost nearly 54 pounds, my life has changed. My husband has fallen in love with me all over again. I find something wrong with that, I hear testimonials like this all of the time. So what if she didn’t lose the weight? Would her husband not love her? Is it ok for husbands to be digusted in their wives if they put on a few pounds? What if the weight gain is do to a medical problem?

Geeze these weight loss ads drive me up the wall.

I’m loving the new Jenny Craig commercials with Queen Latifah. It’s all about getting down to the size that is healthy for you.

    Sheena,
I absolutely agree. As a heavier girl, I had tons of neuroses about whether or not my significant others have actually loved me because of my size, but I have realized that regardless of my size they love me for me. This is my first comment but I look forward to reading and commenting on both sophistishe.org and mommydaddyblog. Good luck on the apartment hunting!

I’ve always wondered the same thing. How great is their relationship when he changes because she has lost weight? It would be different if they talked about how she feels sexier and feels like being more romantic since she lost the weight - and that has helped their marriage.

I’m a big girl, and I hope my husband has always loved me the same through thick and thin.

I haven’t seen the Queen Latifah ads, but will keep an eye out for them. I just love her, and I am so grateful for the confidence she tries to instill in women, regardless of size.

I wish you both the best of luck on the move!

I think that these women who write these testimonials have low self esteems. Either that or their husbands have given them the impression that they don’t love them anymore because of their weight. It is sad indeed.

I am glad that you found me on Twitter - it was suggested that I join by AlexCaseyBaby for networking and she was right! I am brand new to all of this but am welcoming the adventure. Cutie Booty refers to baby booty’s the diapers cover them up - get it? I know you know with a newborn you have your share of changing your baby!

I am sure all your paperwork woes will be fine in the end. No stressing momma!

I agree with the weight loss testimonials…shoot my hubby loves me the same (maybe more) even though I have gained a few pounds from the last kid. I guess everyone if different but I do know what you mean. Okay let me get back to my coffee now! We share the same addictions! LOL!!
