Preconception Goodies Giveaway

I planned on doing a giveaway on November 1st, but I’ve decided to have the giveaway a few days early.

Some of you out there may be trying to conceive and I thought I would give away a copy of Preconception Plain & Simple by Audrey Couto McClelland and Sharon K. Couto from Pinks & Blues! This book is a deliciously smart and sexy guide in preparing for pregnancy! I have my own copy which I haven’t read yet since Greg and I aren’t purposely trying anymore. Things are kinda at a standstill with my body (due to depo provera) and other things so I’m kinda “blah” right now. Whatever happens, happens. Eventually I’ll start reading and I’m sure the guide will help me out a lot.

I’ve also decided to give away a $25 Kangaroodle gift certificate for a head start on shopping for the new baby! At Kangaroodle you’ll have a ball shopping for fun, functional, and fabulous babygear. Try not to order the whole store!

Rules - Rules 1 & 2 are optional since there are so many giveaways going on, but it is appreciated if they are followed.
1. Write a post about this contest, linking back to the contest, Kangaroodle, and Pinks & Blues.
2. Mention BOTH prizes. I had an issue last contest with people only mentioning ONE of the prizes. If you fail to mention both, you’ll only be able to win the prize that you mentioned. Fair is fair.
3. Leave a comment preferably mentioning your favorite thing about the fall season.
4. A winner will be chosen November 4th!

Could’ve Had A Secure 2 Me

Picture this…You’re at a neighborhood fair with the hubby and kids on a cool autumn day. Your three year old screams I gotta goooo! In a panic, you and the hubby weave through the crowd trying to find the nearest rest area, hubby carrying your three year old, you maneuvering your infant in the stroller. You don’t want your three year old to have an accident! Pardon me, excuse me. It’s comiiing, ooow owww! Pardon me, excuse us, sorry! You spot the rest rooms ahead. Oh noooo. What?…..I-I tinkle on myself. You sigh and head over to the ladies room. You get her cleaned up and in a new set of clothes in the stall. You two walk out of the ladies room.

Hubby: Honey where’s his blanket?
You: What do you mean where’s his blanket?
Hubby: I thought you may have taken it in the restroom with you.
You: Well I didn’t!
Three Year Old: *points* Dere it is!

Your infant’s blanket is being trampled over by the crowd. Hubby agrees to retrieve it. Pardon me, excuse me, trying to get this blanket here. Thank you. He returns carrying the blanket with a look of disgust. Shoe tracks, cheese, chili, caramel, and god knows what else is covering your infant’s blanket. Both of you roll your eyes and hubby tosses the blanket in a spare plastic bag and stuffs it in one of the stroller’s compartments.

*bop* Could’ve had a Secure2Me!

Now if only you had a Secure2Me baby blanket you wouldn’t be filled with so much frustration right now. The Secure2Me is an innovative blanket that clips on to the sides of your baby’s stroller ensuring that your baby’s blanket isn’t tossed, nudged, or swept away with the wind! The blankets are both functional and fashionable. They come in many gorgeous patterns. Check out the Secure2Me blanket collection over at Secure2Me.com. Keep your baby in the lap of luxury.

Kangaroodle & Body Shop Giveaway #1

Winner has been announced!

A lot of additions have been made to Kangaroodle since I last blogged about the wonderful store.

The Design Studio - Design your own bibs, blankies, initial knobs, onesies, and pacifier clips!

UBI Diaper Changing Tables - Check out these retro changing tables, they are so cute! Kangaroodle is one of the very first stores to carry this product.

Belli Skin Care - Skincare for pregnancy, motherhood, and for the baby!

Hand Knit Beanies - Babies look sooo cute in these. I desperately want to learn how to knit!

Pettiskirts aka Tutus - Too cute for words. I love poofy skirts. My wedding dress will be extremely poofy at the bottom!

Baby Beanie SO…it’s about time I did another giveaway to liven things up around here! Kangaroodle’s donated a $25 gift certificate to give to one of you lucky readers and I’m throwing in a Coconut Shower Cream shower gel from The Body Shop. Not exactly the holiday product that I mentioned before (freebie funds are low due to mailing a lot of “stuff” to random folks), but hey it’s a product and it’s F-R-E-E. Next month I’ll try to have something from the holiday collection.

Gotta Love Kiki’s Fashions

Just a little note: Scrolll down, there are other posts for today, just check the dates. I know some may just read what’s on top.

KikiIn the last few years or so maternity clothes have come a looong way. They’ve become more fashionable for sure. Some of which I wouldn’t mind wearing pregnant or not! I own a few shirts that kinda look like they are maternity shirts and I plan on keeping them for when I do become pregnant. I actually own a real maternity shirt, the Brown White Flower Maternity Short Sleeve Shirt from Kiki’s Fashions. I thought the pattern was so cute, so I HAD to have it! I wore it when I went out to eat with Greg, his mother, brother, sister, and their “mates”. I can’t get to those pictures that I took since my laptop is currently on the fritz, so I’ll post one that I took today.

I ordered a size small, I think I should have ordered a medium, the arm openings are a bit snug. When I first visited Kiki’s Fashions, I completely fell in love with their selection. Kiki’s Fashions is like Forever 21, maternity style! I love the fact that when I’m pregnant I can feel like a hawt mama-to-be vs a hot pregnant mess in huge, bulky clothing. Depending on the size of the shirts, I can possibly even wear them before, during, and after pregnancy. Kiki’s Fashions is now bookmarked in my Fashion Favs folder!

Hope Cube

I’ve had the chance to review a new Health 2.0 website, Hopecube.com. Hope Cube is a social networking site, similar to myspace, where people can get answers to common and rare health issues as well as how to prevent them. I think it is a great site especially for people who feel like they are alone. Patients can share advice and encouragement with others who currently deal with or have dealt with similar health issues. Patients even have the option to consult with medical professionals. Some issues that I think you all would be interested in are Women’s Health and Personal Issues. Know that you are not alone, sign up for a Hope Cube account.
