I’m 23 Weeks Preggie Today!

23 WeeksToday I’m 23 weeks preggie. View my 23rd Week post. It was Greg’s idea that I do a post each week charting my progress. What a clever Hounie =). Yesterday I went a little wild on eBay. Well, I wouldn’t say wild because everything that I’ve won and still bidding on are inexpensive items that I MUST have to remain a Hot Mama, headbands, hats, and earrings. I lost a few of my crocheted hats (probably at my mother’s), and one was destroyed in the washer. I also had to toss some earrings, you know how some costume jewelry can be. If I don’t remain a Hot Mama, my mother will get on me. She insists that I look cute during this pregnancy. She told me that when you’re pregnant you have to look your best, lol. She wants me to stop cutting my long nails, but they are always in my way. Either they are getting stuck in the keyboard or in the way when I’m trying to cook or clean, so I cut them down. She also tries to make me wear rings on my fingers so that I look more dainty. I’m more of a one ring at a time type of person while she’s like a 4+ rings at a time person, she loves her rings.

In the next week or so, I’ll start reviewing some of my favorite maternity finds. I may as well give up on finding a maternity jean because they all run too big. The only brand that I know of that has my size is Seven For All Mankind and Sheena does not have Seven For All Mankind money, new or used! I ordered a SwellyBelly Band to fit over the jeans that still comfortably fit but won’t close. I’m still worshiping my yoga pants, I got quite a few pairs for Christmas.

I’m off to see what I can upload to flickr.

Mommy Daddy Blog: Some Clarification

Pregnant African American Woman3 weeks ago I first started noticing Jayden’s movement in my tummy. First it was like a fish being taken home in a plastic bag, subtle. Now he’s just all over the place and many times I find myself saying Ooo! What are you doing in there?. A few days ago I noticed my tummy vibrating with his movements. Pretty soon I’ll be able to see his little arms and legs poking on through. This is so exciting!

The days are going by pretty fast and I feel like I have so much to do with so little time. I want to start nesting NOW, but I have to wait until we move. I’m currently overwhelmed in baby products, there’s just so many of them. Some I know for sure that I want, others are still up for debate. This is another reason why Greg and I will be reviewing products on Mommy Daddy Blog, so that other parents going through the same thing that we’re going through can have an idea of what’s what. New Theme + Christmas Recap

Finally a new theme. It took me a while because I had to put my site to the side a to tend to other things online. Then I had to fight with the css, I wanted to make things pleasing to the eye seeing how I decided to go pastel. Spring’s not here yet, but I’m so ready for it to be. I had enough of cold weather. Today it’s 64 degrees and super windy, now all we need is some green grass and blooming trees.

I never did post about our Christmas. It was relaxing. My mother cooked loads of food, just for me =). She made turkey, dressing, ham, greens, squash, lasagna, and potato salad. Then there was store bought apple pie and caramel cake. Mmmmm. For Christmas I got jewelry, lots of clothes (that fit), and a Sidekick iD from my mother. Greg’s mother got me What to Expect When You’re Expecting and his grandmother got me 2 maternity shirts. Greg and I didn’t swap gifts this year, there was no need, we already swapped gifts, lol. *hint-hint* He got clothes, stackable dresser drawers, and a JVC Everio camcorder. We both have gadgets to play with now -) . I can check email and browse the web anywhere and he can get videos of whatever he wants, most importantly, of Jayden. On Christmas day we ran out to Walgreens and bought last minute Christmas gifts for our mothers (my mother: perfume; his mother: old navy GC), his grandmother (slippers), and my aunt (a large pill organizer), lol. We were broke but had to get them something.

On Greg’s birthday we went to Outback with his mother, grandmother, sister, and brother. The guy that brought us our food was so flamboyantly gay and was missing a tooth in the front. When he opened his mouth we were all stunned. I didn’t even know what I ordered after that! We were just trying not to look at each other while he was giving us our food. I was choking on a laugh! It gets worse. So after he left, we got our laughs out and joked about him coming back to sing Happy Birthday to Greg. After dinner, Greg ordered dessert and guess who was the ring leader in the group of waiters and waitresses singing Happy Birthday? Here we are just talking and he pops up WE HAVE A BIRTHDAY TODAAAAAAY! We were all like deer caught in the headlights! Greg’s mother and I looked at each other with our mouths dropped. I wish we could have gotten it recorded on camera, after that I couldn’t stop laughing. And no I’m not a homophobe, it was just how the guy was acting that triggered uncontrollable laughter.

Guess I should wrap this up. We need to pick up some things at the grocery store so that I can cook. I have pictures from Christmas that I need to upload. I’ll get them up within a day, I have to find one of the USB cords. It’s packed in my bag somewhere. Now that I’m content with how my blog looks and I’m almost done with a project from hell, I should be blogging more. I see some giveaways in February, won’t go into detail. That’s all for now! (wishes there was a better way of ending an entry)
