I Was Featured On Mommy Too!
I was featured on Real Life Wednesday, a section of Mommy Too Magazine! I wasn’t expecting this at all so I’m feeling really giddy inside. Go check out Mommy Too, they have a network where mothers of color can mingle online. And although the magazine focuses on mothers of color, there’s articles written that are useful for mothers of all shades.
I guess this means I should talk more about the pregnancy. I had my first whiner over at Mommy Daddy Blog since most entries aren’t about the pregnancy. For one the blog is still new. Two, up until month four, I didn’t know that I was pregnant, there was nothing to talk about then, and the blog didn’t exist. Everyone’s case is different. Excuse me if I have no complaints for the day. Nothing’s swollen, I’m not sick, what can I say but everything’s going smoothly and that I can feel Jayden wiggling every day. If something new should arise then maybe I’d mention it. I’m sure no one wants to hear what color the prenatals have turned my poop. I’ll leave it at that. Now that I think I about it, I just may mention it on Mommy Daddy Blog - in a less disgusting way.
I haven’t gotten around to making a new theme but I will surely have a pregnancy and flickr update tonight. I’m 22 weeks as of today! Oh and I posted a book review over at MDB. Be back later!

Crossing My Fingers For a Hamilton Beach® Stand Mixer
A Cowboy’s Wife is having a contest on her food blog! You can win a Hamilton Beach® Stand Mixer and she’ll ship anywhere so everyone is eligible! Crossing my fingers, hoping I win! We just picked up ingredients for apple turnovers and I’m bummed that I don’t have a mixer to make the crust
. I can use my hands like usual but using a mixer is so much easier and gets everything evenly distributed. Wish me luck!

The winner will receive a brand new
Hamilton Beach 4.5-qt. Eclectrics Stand Mixer, Pineapple Yellow!!
About the beauty:
From Hamilton Beach’s “Eclectrics” line, this all-metal stand mixer comes with a host of accessories - a Flat Beater for cakes and cookies, a Dough Hook for bread and a Wire Whisk for whipped cream or pudding. The 4.5-qt. stainless steel bowl comes with a Pouring Shield that helps prevent splattering while in operation. The pouring shield has a built-in chute for adding ingredients. Powered by 400 watts, the stand mixer has a two-way mixing action to ensure all ingredients are incorporated into the mix. The quick-release, tilt-up head assists when removing the bowl. 9 x 14 x 14-in. When you’re ready for a kitchen re-do, don’t call in the carpenters! Instead, “counterscape” your kitchen with Hamilton Beach’s retro-designed, affordably priced electrics in happy, sun-saturated colors. Their “Eclectrics” line includes updates to those classic appliances from the 1950s. All of their “Eclectrics” are available in six colors: Apple Green, Moroccan Red, Pineapple Yellow, Intrigue Blue, Sugar White and Licorice Black.

Happy New Year! 2008
Check out my Hounie’s (Greg) New Years post on Mommy Daddy Blog! *tear*
Happy New Year! Greg and I are spending our New Years at home. Normally we’d watch the fireworks on Lakeshore Drive in Chicago but we had to head home early this year. Doesn’t make me any difference I’m just looking forward to what 2008 has to offer! Besides we are FINALLY going to be parents, I’m keeping my pregnant behind in the house!
What are some of your New Years Resolutions? Here are some of mine.
1. Be the best mommy that I can be.
2. Master shopping with coupons.
3. Bring in an extra income in addition to what we already have.
4. Save money!
5. Make time for hobbies, depending on if I am successful with #3 & #4.
6. Drive…agh.

Back Home
I’ve been absent the past couple of days due to the fact that my IP’s kept getting blocked by my host’s server. My new anti spam plugin was triggering this and I THINK I have found a fix. Every time I would log into wordpress from any location, the IP would be blocked minutes later, so that’s why I’ve been MIA, and also due to the holiday of course. I haven’t had much time to sit at the computer or think for that matter.
Greg’s mother found out about Jayden on the 23rd through Greg’s cousin who saw our ultrasound pictures on facebook. Greg forgot that he had her saved as a friend. See what these social networks can get you in to
? ANYWAY Greg’s mother did NOT have a midlife crisis. She’s excited, so’s Greg’s grandmother, little sister (16), his little brother (18) could care less (maybe it’s a guy thing), we both still aren’t the best of friends (his brother and I). His mother and my mother talked on the phone for a loooong time, they are working on the baby shower. Greg got to keep his Christmas and birthday gifts, lol! In just a few days my stomach turned into a well done turkey and of course I have until May to continue to grow! So far I gained 8lbs, got some extra hips, and went up a bra size. I was already on my way to another bra size pre-pregnancy so I won’t be surprised if I go up again by May. I’m loving the girls, however I’m waiting on some booty, lol. Gotta keep things in proportion…
I’ll post a Christmas update a little later, we just got in and we have to tidy up. If the house isn’t clean, I lack motivation to do anything else, so we must get started!

If you would like to give a gift to baby Jayden, we are registered at Target. All gifts are greatly appreciated!
