Looking For A New Place

I want to thank all of you for congratulating Greg and I on our pregnancy. It feels good that positive vibes are being sent our way. I’m keeping calm for the 1st doctor visit on the 12th, it still hasn’t hit me that there’s a baby inside of me and that it has to come out somehow. Whatever it takes, I’m willing to go through it. I think after I see an ultrasound, I’ll feel more like a pregnant woman. Greg and I just ran to pick up some of his homework from campus, we had to go up so many stairs, by the time we were done I was panting. I have how many more months of this? I told my mother that I’m going to be hopping in a scooter when we start doing all of the baby shopping, I’m already dragging my feet to keep my belly from rumbling when I walk.

Greg and I have started looking at new places to live. Pre-baby we planned on moving closer to Chicago so that we could be closer to family BUT not TOO close. Being an hour and a half away is perfect. So since we’re expecting, we’re looking for real now. We’re trying to move some time in May, hoping we can break our lease without any penalties and that my water doesn’t break before then.

We found some nice apartments and town homes in Normal, IL I believe, but some just screamed college parties. The amenities just catered to college students. Property was nice, units were new, they accepted pets (which is hard to find especially on a new property). Then there was the pool, the volley ball court, the computer lab, and the way cool description. Try again. I know we’ll find something.

My Depo Provera Story + Conceiving

Months ago and up until a few days ago I went through a panic where I wanted to detox my body. I had been on the Depo Provera shot for 16 months as of April of this year and wanted to make sure that the drug was completely out of my system. Originally I was on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo Pills to minimize cramping during my cycles, I had no problems with them just dizzy spells in the morning. I decided to take them later in the day and everything was fine. When I went off to college, I wasn’t able to always refill on time and it became a problem. I had heard a girl say once in High School that the Depo shot will make you thick, basically it’ll make you gain weight. That appealed to me because I have been thin all of my life and I wasn’t able to gain weight if my life depended on it. When I requested the Depo shot, my Gyn was very lax about prescribing the drug to me. She warned me that I could only stay on Depo for 2 years because it could make my bones weak and she suggested that I take calcium and drink milk. She didn’t tell me that taking Depo Provera could lead to infertility and other complications. I had to find that out on my own while curiously searching the web. The Depo Provera horror stories are just never-ending. After reading so many of them I was afraid that I would have complications trying to conceive because of this drug. Read more

Phew, I’m done! Flickr emails were going to my spam folder, I sorted it out so now I know when people are commenting.

Some things that I didn’t mention:
- My mother won $600 at the casino. My sane aunt won $300. Greg and I won over $20 but played it back.
- We had PLENTY to eat as there were buffets available all day long. So us missing our 8:30pm dinners weren’t a big deal. On top of that, there was room service which was included as well.
