Trying To Budget Here…

I had almost just about had it with our energy and cable companies. Yesterday I found that our bank account had been charged twice for our electric/gas bill. This caused an overdraft. In rage, I emailed them last night and this morning the charge disappeared and the bank account is fine. Now on to cable/internet. Yesterday I called them to downgrade the services. I had stayed on for at least 30 minutes before giving up. Today I call them and at the same time the cable and internet wasn’t working so I had to see what was up with that. It was down in our area but it’s fixed now. I thought they screwed something up and cut our service off. But anyway I wanted to downgrade because we were on a special for like $54. The special ended this month and brought the bill to $87 and we are not paying that. So we’re taking back the cable box and downgrading the internet. The bill will now be $67, which is still high but we’ll be switching companies when we move in July. We’ll only be paying that amount for 2 months. We couldn’t get the bill any lower than that unless we just want channels 2-22, what’s the point of paying for those channels when we can get an antenna?

So anyway when we move we’re going with EarthLink and DISH Network for internet and television entertainment. I now see why so many people out here have dishes, the cable company is a ripoff. With EarthLink and DISH Network we won’t have to worry about the prices increasing or being taxed for a bunch of nothing. Together we’ll be paying a little less than $40 for internet and “channels”. Sounds good to me.

Cakes By Mail’s Greeting Cakes

I decided to finally make my greeting cake from cakesbymail.net. I had fun making it. The flavor that I received was chocolate and I’m not a chocolate cake eater. I prefer yellow and white, but let me tell you this cake was delicious! It was moist and just perfect! It took less than 5 minutes to make! All I needed was water and a microwave! These cakes are perfect for parties, kids would have a blast making these. They also make great gifts for any occasion. There are five flavors to choose from; Chocolate Cake, White Cake, White Cake w/ Chocolate Frosting, Chocolate Brownie, and Lemon. There are also cakes for any occasion and season, you can even personalize the message on the cake container. I really love the idea of greeting cakes and will consider giving them out as gifts.

Gotta Love Recipes

I love cooking and trying new recipes. I love learning new recipes and modifying them to my liking. Trying new recipes allows me to get “hip” to new seasonings and other grocery products. Just recently I sent off for some recipe cards, the recipe box, a cutting board, and a knife set in the mail. All I had to do was pay $6 for the recipe cards, the rest was free! I haven’t tried any of the recipes but I plan on doing so when we move. Right now I don’t feel like doing much of anything since I know that we’re moving. I’m just so unenthusiastic here. I know that once we move, I’ll have more pep in my step and I’ll find ways to keep busy.
