Country Love
Got my ipod nano today. I’m satisfied with it. I was gonna send it back for a second generation nano, but I don’t care. I didn’t realize how small it is, I love it.
Greg’s officially on summer vacation!
Yesterday Greg, Caesar, and I went on an exploration road trip. From time to time we just go driving to find something new. Well, yesterday we found Kentucky. The last trip we went on, we ended up in Missouri. I just love the country. I fell in love with it when I was 9 years old visiting my cousins in Arkansas. I used to come visit every summer up until I turned 14 or so. For the most part I feel really safe, but in some areas, I don’t. Those areas I don’t feel safe in are those hick/rodeo looking towns. I remember being in government class my junior year of high school. The topic of where we wanted to live came up and I said “the country” and this dude that always has something to say about any and everybody had to add his 2 cents in “remember up here we’re free”. Racism still exists and I don’t believe it will ever die, but there are many safe parts of the south. Everything’s just peaceful and people are nicer than up north. Greg and I most likely are gonna stay in the south. My cousin and her husband just bought 10 acres of land and are building a house in Arkansas, so we’ll be close for visiting.

From You Flowers Free Shipping
Yesterday I was on a frenzy trying to find affordable flowers to send to my mother and aunt for Mother’s Day. Everytime I got ready to checkout, I got hit with heavy service fees. That turned me off, so I continued my hunt. During my hunt, I got an email from fromyouflowers.com saying that they would wave their $12.99 service fee if I came back to their site and completed my order. You better believe I returned. I got beautiful flowers and the service/shipping fee waived! I guess a lot of people are turned off by their service fee, so that’s why they do that. So, if you’d like to take advantage of this, place an item in your shopping cart and get to the point where you’ve already entered your email address and stop (close your browser or tab) when they ask for your credit card information. You’ll receive an email asking you to return back, a link will be given to have the $12.99 service fee waived. Here’s the link if you don’t wish to wait.

I’m In A Hurry
I’m in a “get up and go” mood today. I feel like mass cleaning. I also would like to start organizing and packing as well. We’re going to start moving in the end of July, but I just want to be prepared. I want this move to be as easy as possible. We already have to double move. Move everything into storage, then go back home (5 hours away) for 15 or more days. It’s gonna be ferociously hot outside, so we need to have everything in perfect order. I’m debating if we should rent a carpet shampooer or just buy one. I don’t know how much it is to rent yet. It would be nice to just own one though, since Caesar may have an accident or two at the new place. We’ll probably just buy one since they’re inexpensive. I just don’t want any drama with the security deposit. We better be getting it all back. I also don’t want something to be messy or out of order in the event that the place has to be shown. I don’t even see a reason for them to come in here to show the place if they have a sample townhouse for that. I’m so ready to leave! I’m tired of hearing the surrounding parties and hearing and seeing my ghetto next door neighbors around my front door. It will only get worse as finals are in progress for Greg and the rest and summer vacation is one snap away…

Ok, I Can See It
I think I’m content with my hair. I can see some of the color if I stand 1 inch away from the mirror and squint, lol. It seems that the dye just kind of acted as a rinse, although it’s permanent. I may try again next month, who knows. I do like my dark dark dark brown almost black hair, it’s just that I’m used to my hair being brown. My hair has been noticeably brown most of my life. I guess since I’ve had a relaxer most of my life, the chemicals turned my hair that color. When I was younger, I hated my brown hair, I wanted black hair. I guess because everyone else had dark hair. I don’t know what my problem was. Well now I almost have black hair. I kinda got my wish. Below is a picture of me with brown hair. I thought that was my natural hair color until a beautician told me that relaxers lighten your hair after a while. Looking back at pictures of me as a child, my hair was dark like how it is now. So my real natural hair color is dark dark dark brown almost black. I’ll look up the real term and number later, lol.

THIS IS NOT A CURRENT PICTURE. This is a FLASHBACK of my hair with a relaxer and NO dye. This is the hair color and length I was used to. My hair color appeared darker if it had a lot of moisturizing lotion in it. In this picture I had just washed it, so it was at it’s lightest. This was Sophomore year, I hadn’t dyed it until Senior year. Excuse the fake contacts. It was a trend back then.

Unsuccessful
So I attempted to dye my hair today. I was unsuccessful. While deciding which color to choose, I couldn’t figure out the difference between the 100% color line and the Nutrisse line. Nutrisse put emphasis on “nourishing”, so that’s what I chose in the color of Dark Mahogany Brown - 45 - Cinnamon Stick. The box said to leave it in for 25 minutes for little or no grey hair and 35 minutes for more grey hair. Well I DON’T HAVE ANY GREY HAIR, so I left it in for 25 minutes. I rinsed it out and my hair color hadn’t changed. Guess I should have left it in for 35 minutes. Maybe I’ll try again next month with wet hair. This has happened to me a time before using some tube that I got from Sally’s. I don’t know if I didn’t leave it in long enough or my hair just said no. Don’t remember.

Before dying.

While dying.

After rinsing out. Absolutely no color change.
Greg and I found a turtle today. We were gonna keep it, but we don’t know anything about turtles. We don’t have the right supplies. It’s just risky. I didn’t want to kill the poor thing. So we took it to a lake where it would be safer. If we would have left it here, it probably would have gotten kicked around and used as a hockey puck by some drunk student.

Releasing the turtle into the lake.

The lake. Bye Bye Turtie!
Well speaking of turtles, I’m supposed to be watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with Greg to rekindle our childhood. So I’m off to do so.
