Free Deep Freezer? No Luck.

So I settled with the fact that I won’t find a deep freezer for free anytime soon. The one on freecycle can’t be found in the yahoo group, so I couldn’t contact them. I found one on ebay for $20, it was so used, abused, and dirty. I’m going to check the classifieds and shop around. I really don’t want to buy one, I’m trying to save money here. The 5.5 cu ft ones are in our price range, but I’m pusing for at least 8.8 cu ft. A 5.5 shouldn’t be a problem, it’s only two of us, but it is smart to prepare for the future. I’d rent one to own, but I’ll end up paying twice as much for it doing it that way. Eh, I’ll see what happens. I’m going to be working harder online for this freezer. It’s a must have.

Pet Food Recall

If you’ve purchased canned food for your cat or dog from December 3rd 2006 - March 5th 2007, beware.

There has been a recall on the following brands of canned food for cats: Americas Choice, Preferred Pets,Authority, Best Choice, Companion, Compliments, Demoulas Market Basket, Eukanuba, Fine Feline Cat, Food Lion, Foodtown, Giant Companion, Hannaford, Hill Country Fare, Hy-Vee, Iams, Laura Lynn, Li’l Red, Loving Meals, Meijer’s Main Choice, Nutriplan, Nutro Max Gourmet Classics, Nutro Natural Choice, Paws, Pet Pride, Presidents Choice, Price Chopper, Priority, Save-A-Lot, Schnucks, Science Diet Feline Savory Cuts Cans, Sophistacat, Special Kitty Canada, Special Kitty US, Springfield Prize, Sprout, Total Pet, Wegmans, Western Family, White Rose, and Winn Dixie.

There has been a recall on the following brands of canned food for dogs:

These foods have caused kidney failure and some deaths in animals that consumed these products. I purchased 4 cans of Nutro Max for Caesar back in January as a treat, I never fed them to him. Good thing I didn’t. Good thing Simba doesn’t eat canned food anymore. I won’t be purchasing canned pet food of any kind now. These recalls are getting ridiculous, you aren’t safe eating anything anymore.

Conclusion of Spring Break

Well, ~~spring break~~ Greg’s spring break is over. I officially don’t have a spring break now. Some of the pictures that I took are here. They aren’t all that exciting. We leave tomorrow morning on a spanking new set of tires. I feel a bit safer now. I can’t wait to set up my new plants and throw things in my new canvas bins.

Hometown For Spring Break

Well, we made it “home” (mother’s home). I can never get anything computer related done until my mother and aunt go to sleep. I’m constantly interrupted to do something. I’d hide in the basement but it’s cold down there, it’s perfect for sleeping though. I am getting a thrill out of staring at the aquarium, it’s so crisp and the fish are so beefy compared to mine. They’ll get there. My time here will probably be spent staring at the aquarium, the big screen, promoting my “business”, shopping for groceries and plants, and cooking and baking a cake for my mother and aunt. My aunt’s birthday was February 24th and my mother’s is March 23rd. They love this particular cake so I shall make it.

Today’s Random Thoughts

- I’ve been up since 5am

- I finished cleaning today. Knocked out bathrooms 1 & 2 and the kitchen. The whatever else room we started, but we need some storage supplies to finish it. I also changed the bird’s poop pad and vacuumed “the animal room“.

- I cooked dinner for breakfast at 8am. I’ll probably have oatmeal for dinner.

- Caesar has had his bath. I love what my method is doing to his coat. I shampoo and condition him with Garnier Fructis. The dog shampoo costs too much and dries his skin. Some human products are pet friendly. There’s no need to waste money on pet catered items when you can just use what you have at home. Example: $12 doggie bath wipes. I guess those are for idiots who know nothing about a $2 box of baby wipes.

- In 10-15 days my books and materials will arrive from Penn Foster and I will begin studying in their Medical Assistant program. So that now makes me a stay at home student… I have 15 months to complete my work, I’m pretty sure I’ll be done before then.

- I don’t feel like packing. I’ll pack tomorrow, 2 hours before we’re getting ready to leave . I can’t wait to get my hands on a maxwell street polish *drool*. I swear the only reason I go back home is for the fast food.

- I’m never too old to color.
